Hermès is a trans man who came to his own trans awareness in 2017 and then came out in 2020. Now, he’s a full-time stylist in D.C. with a passion for teaching. Hermès believes in using ethics when teaching classes like giving credit when it’s due and providing history not just simple yes or no answers. He has been known to challenge beauty brands and hair competitions when they have gendered products or catagories. “Disrupting” the industry is a term someone might use for his style of teaching simply because he talks about all the important queer stuff no one wants to acknowledge. For example; When the very school where he once studied and later taught at, told him not to talk about gender, pronouns, or queer inclusivity, Hermès saw an opportunity and that’s when he created his own course that dives head-on into those very topics. Now yes, there are other company’s out there that claim they are dong the same thing however they’re not providing a direct map to help the actual people that the whole point of this is, the queer community! Hermes wants you to have integrity and ethics when your claiming to be a queer safe space, that’s why he created this course.
